Warnemunde – Berlin

I have just recently come back from Berlin where I enjoyed 3 fabulous nights of the city and what it has to offer. I have never really known much about cruises that port into Warnemunde (Berlin). However after now visiting the city I would very much recommend it.

Since the wall came down in 1989 the city itself has a new lease of life and is no longer isolated in the middle of the Communist of East Germany. Most customers who cruise into Warnemunde don’t realise that you can visit Berlin with a transfer time of just over 2 hours and I’m sure most customers would think that is a long transfer time. However like other ports such a Civitavecchai (Rome) that can take up to 1 hour and 30 minutes I am sure this trip into Berlin would be well worth the trip

With sights such as checkpoint charlie, the Brandenburg Gate and the Fernsehturm Berlin tower which has 360 degree views to discover Berlin. The city also offers river cruising to admire the scenic city routes.

Not to mention the few hundred bars it also has to offer and the cafes which of course will offer you the German Sausage which in all honesty was better than I thought it would be.

I would also say that Berlin can be very cheap depending on what you are looking to buy. Generally speaking drinks in bars were relatively cheap costing around 3 euros for a beer and around 4.5 – 6 euros for a vodka and coke. Cafes again were very cheap to dine in and even though Berlin in a big city getting around using the train or local taxis was very cheap also. A 20 minute train ride cost me 2 euros and a 25 minute taxi ride cost me around 17 euros, so all in all a very reasonable city to visit in the way of price and also what it has to offer. I would certainly recommend booking an excursion / tour into this city and I am sure I will be travelling back again in the near future.

One last thing I will say is that this can be a very busy city so if looking to book excursions / tours with your cruise line, I would get in there quickly as I should imagine this would be a very popular tour / excursions for customers to book.
