Virgin Cruise

So it has been reported that Sir Richard Branson will soon be entering into the cruise market. It has sparked so much conversation over the the last few days as to what the brand will offer, where the brand will be based and when this will come in to service.

Well I can honestly say from the numerous conversations I have had with my clients that everyone is backing the “Virgin” idea. With the cruise industry being one of the biggest growing markets I am little surprised it has taken him this long to come up with the new venture. As you can imagine, Branson will make an absolute fortune with this new venture into the cruise market. However can you blame him?

He has managed to get it right with flights, mobile technology, his own record label and soon will be sending us in to space. Is this the right industry for him? From what I am hearing from most customers is that virgin has an outstanding service to offer and cruising would be the next step up for him.

It has been leaked that Branson is set to build 2 cruise liners to start his cruise market which is set to sail the later part of the decade. I know right, your thinking that sounds like forever. Although when you think back to when it was announced that London would host the 2012 Olympic’s back in 2008, it doesn’t seem that far off.

I will be most looking forward to the brand that he will offer as well as the name of the 2 ships he will have in service. What are you thoughts? Would you agree that a Virgin cruise could be the next game player?
