Embarkation Lunch

With many of us cruise lovers who like to embark on your chosen ship early so you have the option to unpack and dine for lunch. However some cruise companies are in talks of removing the option to dine in the buffet restaurants for lunch to presumably discourage people arriving early.

Is this another money saving scheme put in place or is this just another process to stop guests embarking earlier rather than later? Personally I do like a nice lunch after boarding my ship however it is not a deciding factor to embark earlier.

One guest who has been on to the www.cruise.co.uk forum and wrote the following “I, for one appreciate an opening tread like this as well especially as o have to say it is news to me but nothing shakes me as far as money saving by the cruise line concerned.Cruising has of late particularly been a matter of how can I save money by the cruise lines and not how can we best serve or customers and make the want to come back”.

What are you thoughts on the matter? Should lunch always be available for guests after embarking on their dream cruise holiday? As far as I’m concerned it should all be part of the service and on-board experience.
