Viva Las Vegas

Last week I talked about our fantastic trip to the Grand Canyon. Now onto Las Vegas what a place!

We upgraded to Premium Economy seats on the flight with Virgin and It was well worth it for such a long flight.

We stayed in The Linq hotel. Its fairly new and has been completely refurbished originally it was known as the Imperial Palace. The location was fantastic right in the middle of the Las Vegas Strip. I had originally booked a standard room and on arrival we were offered an upgrade to a King Suite for just $30 per night. We took them up on the offer and the room was great. It had a large living area with fridge, sink, coffee machine & dining area along with a large corner sofa with t.v then a separate bedroom with another t.v

Once we had arrived we headed out for a wander and found ourselves at the Circus Circus hotel. I haven’t heard great things about the hotel and I have to be honest I really didnt like it. The whole hotel felt so old. We had thought we might like to try out the coasters in the Adventure dome but they were not up to much.

We headed back to The Linq and wandered through the Palazzo onto the Venetian. The shopping area is a sight in itself as you wander along the Grand Canal in Venice!

Another great place for shopping in Las Vegas is Miracle Mile. This is attached to Planet Hollywood hotel. There is a great bar in here called Ocean One and they offer 3 cocktails for $10 and a lunch menu for $5. We also visited the South Outlets whilst we were there and grabbed some amazing bargains in the Levis store.

Before we left the UK I had also been watching Groupon as they have lots of offers for Las Vegas and managed to get a voucher for the Eiffel Tower so we went up one evening and had some great night views of the Las Vegas Strip and Bellagio fountain show.

We took a trip down to Freemont Street – The old strip its well worth a visit at night as there really are some sights to be seen!

Just at our hotel there was The Linq Promenade area with shops, bars, restaurants and The Linq high Roller. If staying in the Linq hotel you get reduced tickets and it takes around 30 mins.

We managed to also cram in a couple of shows. We watched Raiding the Rock Vault at the Hard Rock Hotel. It was OK i’ve seen better rock shows on cruise ships though! At $50 a ticket it wasnt cheap either so I was expecting a little more.  We ate in MB Steak at Hard Rock and the meal was fantastic. Lobster Mac n Cheese was amazing!

We only had 5 nights in Las Vegas and to be honest it probably wasnt long enough and we will definitely go back. The hotels are so big and its nice to wander around them and check out all the different themes. I loved the Flamingo Hotel and think on our next visit we will try the Cosmopolitan hotel I loved the Chandelier bar in here!
