Weekend in Norfolk

Its that time of the year again, its cold we have snow and Christmas is fast approaching. I am going away this evening to Norfolk for a long weekend at the lovely Norfolk village of Burnham Market.

Christmas kicks off on the green in Burnham Market, on Saturday 24th November at 2.00 pm, with carols playing and mulled wine available starting at 3.30pm.  And at 4.30 pm the spectacular Christmas lights that transform Burnham into a winter wonderland , will be switched on with great ceremony by David Rumelle (in full costume as ‘Dame Nanny Nora’). David is this years ‘Dame’in the Hunstanton Princess Theatre’s pantomime , Sleeping Beauty.

Burnham Market is a really lovely village, my favourite place in Norfolk, and I am staying with a group of friends at the wonderful Hoste Arms. The hotel is right in the centre of the village, has wonderful food and roaring log fires.

The weather will be freezing cold and hopefully we might get some snow to make a really lovely break before Christmas. I will be back in the office on Monday morning.
