The Best of Asia with Arcadia

Arcadia is probably my favourite P&O ship and its lovely to see that she has such lovely itineraries, especially during her World Cruise of 2015. Winter is about to rear her head and booking a cruise is one of the best ways to forget the cold and rain, dare I mention snow !

Arcadia is an adults only ship, she is 83000 tons and carries around 200 passengers, she is also an adult only ship. I enjoyed a lovely cruise on her from Southampton to Naples a could of years ago. She was lovely then but has, in the winter of 2013, had a complete makeover adding lovely new features, especially in the dining venues on board. Food lovers will be delighted with the two-tier Meridien Restaurant, Neptune Grill as well as Marco Pierre White`s Ocean Grill and Atul Kochhar`s East Restaurant.

The cabins all have new carpets, curtains and widescreen TV`s, the Crows Nest has a had a massive makeover and the Globe Lounge is now a new late night dancing venue. Add to this the excellent service on board, which has always been good, especially in the restaurant and bars, and you have a lovely ship to take a spring voyage on.

Her world cruise starts in January 2015 when she will sail out of Southampton, cross the Atlantic and sail through the Panama Canal before crossing the Pacific Ocean. Her journey home will be via Australia, the Far East then the middle East and back to Southampton.

When is the best time to book a World Cruise? Very difficult to say, unless you have a crystal ball  – and I don`t ! If you want to do the whole voyage, and want a particular cabin the its best to book early. Just a sector? Depends which one it is but, if you are flexible and don`t leave it too late, you may get a really good deal.

We have put together an excellent package that combines a stay in Hong Kong, with a cruise onward to Dubai, on Arcadia for March 2015.  Fly from the UK on 13th March and arrive in Hong Kong the next day for a 2 night stay ( or longer if you wish ). I have never been to Hong Kong but would love to go. I imagine the city to be like a bigger version of Singapore, which I love, a blend of old and new cultures.

Busting street markets, loads of people and wonderful restaurants, of course there’s even a touch of Disney too to keep everyone happy. We have included a Harbour Night Cruise on board a Chinese sightseeing junk, taking you to see  fantastic night views of Hong Kong.

Arcadia leaves On 16th March to begin her journey to Dubai, calling in at Sanya Island, Phu My in Vietnam, Bangkok, Sihanoukville Cambodia, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Mumbai before entering the Middle East cit of Abu Dhabi and then on to Dubai, where you will stay on board the ship for a night before your flight home to the UK. Of course an extended stay in Dubai is also possible and April is one of  the best times to visit this surreal city. Once May arrives the weather starts to get really  hot and humid, a month  earlier makes all the difference as you will definitely get lovely, guaranteed sunshine – promise!

If you never been to Dubai, and think it is just loads of sand and tall buildings, give it a try. It is an amazing place with loads to do and, as it is not the cheapest place in the world to holiday , visiting on a cruise is one of the best ways to go there.

All in all the holiday is 23 nights and prices start at £ 1999pp which is an absolute bargain, in fact such a bargain that it is selling out fast. So don`t delay, give me a call today for what could be the holiday of a lifetime.
