Still Time To Book For Christmas

Christmas day is 5 weeks tomorrow – doesn`t time go quickly, but there is still time to book a cruise  if you fancy getting away from it all over the holiday period.

Christmas and New Year is always one of the most popular times of the year for holidays of any type and, of course, it is always a bit more expensive. Anything with flights is always tricky as most airlines have sold their seats well in advance but there is still availability sailing out of Southampton.

P&O Oceana has a 10 night Iberia and Morocco  cruise departing on 19th December. Ports of call are:-

La Coruna – Casablanca – Seville – and Lisbon

Probably not going to be too warm but there should still be a nice bit of winter warmth there somewhere. With prices starting at £ 1099pp this is a really good deal.

If you fancy something a little different take a look at Fred Olsen Boudicca, also sailing from Southampton, this is a 10 night cruise on 23rd December covering Christmas and New Year. The itinerary is different to what you would normally expect for a Christmas cruise visiting Zeebrugge ( for Brussels and Bruges ) – Copenhagen – Warnemunde – transit the Kiel Canal – Bremerhaven and Hamburg. Now it will probably snow, it will be cold but isn`t that what Christmas is all about?

There will be someone to cook the dinner, and wash up for you, you can party the night away on New Year`s eve, and sleep in the next morning, and have  a holiday as well. Prices for this one start at £ 1219pp for an outside cabin.

The ships will be beautifully decorated for Christmas and Santa will surely be on board, the atmosphere will be happy and everyone on the ships will have a great time. You can get dressed up every night if you want!

Personally I would go for the cruise on Boudicca, a smaller ship than Oceana, but so friendly like all Fred Olsen ships. Apart from that the ports of call really appeal to me. I loves Bruges, with its Christmas market, skating rink and chocolate shops.

In Copenhagen you can explore the beautiful settings of the historic Christianborg and Amelienborg Palaces, the colourful pavement cafes and pedestrian streets of Stroget, old Nyhavn harbour’s quayside restaurants and the Tivoli Gardens. Of Don`t forget to see the ‘Little Mermaid’ celebrating the tales of the city’s own Hans Christian Andersen.

The food on board Fred Olsen is always excellent, the staff friendly, it will be just like having Christmas and New Year with an extended family! Give me a call next week and lets get that cruise booked for you!
