Single Travellers

Its always difficult for single travellers to find a cruise where they are not charged a sometimes huge supplement for travelling alone. Several cruise lines do have cabins for single passengers – Fred Olsen, P&O and Cruise & Maritime Services – but these cabins are generally snapped up as soon as the cruise goes on sale and are very rarely available at the last minute.

On most pther cruise lines, if you wish to travel alone, then it will be a cabin for sole occupancy, so big enough for 2, and the price adjusts accordingly. many cruise lines will charge up to 100% for single occupancy of a twin cabin.  This is especially true on late offers as there will almost always be a 100% supplement for single people.

However, if you are prepared to persevere and move away fromthe large cruise lines, there are some wonderful cruises to be found, and some with no single supplement payablle!

Take a look at this – Voyages to Antiquityhave some great itineraries available on the Aegean Odyssey that have no single supplements. The ship is small by todays standards, but the prices include flights, transfers, wine with meals, excursions and gratuities.

MV AEGEAN ODYSSEY is a premium class ship that was rebuilt to cater for cruising in the coastal waters of the central and eastern Mediterranean. The vessel provides the best features of a mid-size ship such as gracious public rooms, a choice of restaurants and stability in inclement weather.

Originally a vessel carrying up to 570 passengers, Aegean Odyssey’s new configuration includes generously-sized suites, junior suites and staterooms with and without balconies. She now carries an average of 350 passengers. By creating these new staterooms we have added a dimension of spaciousness to the vessel and this has enabled us to create a special level of accommodation entitled “Balcony Class”.

Classically elegant, but far from stuffy and formal, Aegean Odyssey has been designed to offer the sophisticated traveller every comfort at sea. With tastefully understated interiors, Aegean Odyssey combines the best of traditional elegance with all the modern conveniences of a first-class ship

She offers the personal service and intimate surroundings of a small ship, has the ability to visit ports that are too small for larger vessels, navigate close to scenic islands of the Adriatic and Mediterranean, as well as berth upriver in the heart of Bangkok, Yangon and Ho Chi Minh City.
