Its Nearly All Over !!

The last thing I was going to talk about in my blog this week was the Olympics, but having been totally captivated by the whole event I can think of nothing better.

The phones have been  a little quieter  than usual here at cruise.co.uk during the last 2 weeks as the whole country seems gripped by Olympic fever. Before the games started I was mildly interested to say the least but I now have to say I have watched as much as possible and, more surprisingly, have enjoyed sports I would never have imagined would interest me.

I have loved the rowing and sailing, the great men’s triathlon and the Brownlee brothers, the cycling on the roads and in the velodrome had me on the edge of my seat and I’ve even loved the canoeing – I didn’t even know it was an Olympic sport before! I have ridden horses from an early age and this is one of my favourite sports, how well we did!

It is so hard to choose a favourite moment but last night seeing Mo Farah win th 5000 meters must be one of them, and seeing him and Usain Bolt swop signs was great. The brilliant Bradley Wiggins, Ben Aynsley and Chris Hoy.

But one of the highlights for me was Tom Daley`s smile on winning the bronze diving medal last night. How lovely to see someone so happy coming third, his father would have been so proud of him, he will be an inspiration to the young of  the UK to get  involved in something worthwhile. I can`t wait for tonight’s closing ceremony !!
