Just how did the new ships do ??

Well before we welcome this year’s new cruise ships to the seas, lets have a quick look back over how well the 2 main ships that launched last year did.

The first ship to launch was P&O’s Britannia that set sail last March.

Atrium9 Britannia

First impressions of the ship are lovely really glamorous atrium certainly the hub of the ship when I went onboard last year, it is where we spent a lot of our time. Outside of the Atrium the ships is not showy fairly understated but luxurious all the same with a very British feel to it. Plenty of great food options with the ‘ Food heroes ‘ Although I didn’t dine there the word on the street is to try ‘Sindhu ‘ the indian restaurant.

I found the entertainment in the theatre the best I have experienced on P&O although seating seems to be an issue if you are on late dining.

Never before has one ship caused such controversy over one subject ‘ Lifts and Staircases’ I had a cabin at the front of the ship and never had any issues but soon after the maiden voyage the comments started flooding in about the lifts and the lack of stairs in the middle of the ship.

My main gripe with the ship is the lack of outside space unless you go up to the sundeck there is nowhere to get some fresh air down on the lower decks.

My personal overall impression of the Britannia is British and safe didn’t blow me away that’s for sure.

The next ship to launch was Royal Caribbean’s Anthem of the seas
anthem

I have had many customers that sailed on Anthem and I can honestly say I have not had one bad comment about the ship !!
She has the WOW factor without a doubt. Even people who are technophobe’s enjoyed the experience.Lots of new’s at sea virtual balcony cabins, dodgems , robots as barmen and much more.I believe they have taken cruising to a new level booking meal times and shows on Ipads around the ship means that everyone can really be happy. I suppose the negative that came was the introduction of dynamic dining to the Anthem but Royal certainly listened to its customers and reintroduced the classic dining.

Weeks before the latest join the Royal Caribbean’s fleet the Ovation and the Harmony !! I have many excited customers that are booked on board so I really cant wait to start hearing all about it and getting some feedback.

Are you booked on the new ships ? What are you most excited about ?
