Luxury Cruise – here I come!

I am lucky enough to be going on Regent Seven Seas – Voyager next week.  I am really looking forward to it as have never sailed on a luxury cruise line before, I have visited a couple of luxury ships and had a look around and lunch but this will be the first time I have experienced it first hand.

Myself & my colleague Teresa will be flying out to Amsterdam on 30 September to embark the ship, we are on board for 5 nights and will disembark in Bordeaux to fly home.  The actual cruise is a 14 night sailing (just wish I was doing the whole trip) so we get to experience it for part if the itinerary.

The itinerary is visiting ports in France that I have never been to so will be interesting to see what is on offer, I love France and have seen quite a bit of it but not where we are going.

We will visit:- St Malo, Lorient, Le Verdon & Bordeaux.

Regent Seven Seas Voyager is a small ship and holds 700 guests & 447 crew

Gross Tonage – 42,363
Length – 670ft
Beam – 9405ft
Draft – 23ft
Decks – 9
Speed – 20 Knots

6* Luxury All Inclusive so all your meals, drinks & excursions are included once you are on board. Excursions are recommended to be pre-booked though so you know you will get the ones you want.

There are no inside suites on Voyager, all have window or balcony.  We are in suite number 1036 which is a D grade Concierge with balcony on deck 10 port side.

The beauty of All Inclusive luxury is that on this particular cruise there are no formal nights, dress code is elegant casual so no need to pack the formal gowns or cocktail dresses which will help with the packing.  On longer cruises of 16 nights+ there are sometimes formal nights and on your guest ticket it actually tells you about the dress code so you can be prepared what to pack.

I have done some research on the dress code so I know what we can & can’t wear at various times on the ship.

Of course once I return next week I will tell you all about it but I will be doing a day to day diary on my Facebook page so please visit my page & like it to follow what we experience if you can’t wait till next week:- https://www.facebook.com/barbara.cruises

Once I have returned from Regent Voyager, I am home for 2 nights then off on P&O Oriana for 2 nights with my husband for my birthday, then the week after I go back to Southampton to visit Royal Caribbean – Oasis of the Seas so quite a busy month on cruise ships is October for me. I will blog about all of these trips so you can see what my thoughts are.

Till then I must start packing………
