A bit of Norwegian – training & people!

I must say I had a great time at the Norwegian Cruise Lines Road Show I attended on 20 November 2013 – I learnt quite a bit about the different destinations that NCL visit.

Did you know that Norwegian Cruise Lines are NOT Norwegian – it is just the name of the cruise line. They are a an American Company so have US Dollar as their main currency on board but some people think they are Norwegian. They don’t even go to Norway!!

NCL are the only cruise line to offer Freestyle cruising which means you can do what you want, when you want and eat when you want, where you want.  There are various restaurants to eat in included in your cruise fare and exclusive restaurants which carry a cover charge to eat also.

As you know I have been on NCL so have experienced the freestyle element and I absolutely loved it.  As much as I love set dining and sitting with the same group of people I loved the aspect of no times to adhere to but everyone is different.

We learnt about Who NCL are, Where they go & How we promote them.

Did you know:-

NCL cater for all type of customers e.g families, couples, experienced cruisers, new to cruise, groups, adventurous people, sports enthusiasts & singles. There is something for everyone, even a bit of luxury with the Haven Suites accommodations.

They cater very well for special occasions as you will already have read about as I went on the Epic on my honeymoon. Accessible cabins are available for wheelchair users & they have varied excursions programme to suit everyone.

You can visit:- Europe, Baltics, Caribbean, Alaska, Hawaii, Canada & New England with NCL & they are the only cruise line authorised to sail from Honolulu, Hawaii!

NCL were the first cruise line to introduce kids clubs at sea, freedom dining & internet.
There is an Ice Bar on board (certain ships)

You can join your NCL cruise from local airports with relatively short flight times.
Cruise & stay if you fancy a longer holiday with a pre or post cruise add on.
You can choose what to wear, no formal dining but you can still dress up if you want to.

I will be happy to answer any questions you have on Norwegian Cruise Lines. So call me on 0800 408 6108 or email me on [email protected].

From Norwegian Cruise Lines to Norwegian people!!

I went to London to meet up with a friend of mine Kjersti from Svalbard, Norway – she came over with her 2 daughters who have never been to London before.  We had a great time sightseeing and did a couple of shows.

I went in the London Dungeons with the 2 girls & Adam took Kjersti on the London Eye – we had great fun and got picked on by the characters to join in – it was great fun!

We travelled around on the tube as it’s the quickest & cheapest way to get around if you have an Oyster card which we did. I love the tube, it’s so differnet and so easy to use & we didn’t even get lost or get on the wrong one!

Myself & my husband Adam didn’t get to go to The Doctor Who Convention as there was a mix up with the tickets and we only had 4 – so I said I wouldn’t go but Adam could but he didn’t want to leave me by myself all day so neither of us went. So I didn’t get my picture with a dalek – nevermid.  Kjersti, Ane & Emilie went along and they loved it.

We went to the Tower of London instead as Adam is really into his history so spent the whole day there. It was very interesting as I’ve never been inside before so it was another thing to tick off my checklist.

Did you know that the ‘Beefeaters’ who guide you round must have been ex-army and served at least 22 years to be able to do that job..  the guy who showed us round was called Chris and he was very knowledgeable.

We stayed at the Lancaster Gate hotel near Hyde Park but I wouldn’t stay here again, the room was tiny at the back of the hotel – the bathroom was so small you could use the toilet, wash your feet in the bath & your hands in the sink – all at the same time!!
The service wasn’t great either and as for the breakfast – well that was a little to be desired. The organisation was terrible, a small breakfast room which was no way big enough for the amount of rooms hotel has. People were queuing for over half an hour for a table and the layout was shocking, all food together, hot & cold so couldn’t get to anything.
I will definitely pay more for a 4/5 star hotel next time.  I much prefer to go on a cruise as I know the service is fantastic so always compare when I stay in a h0tel,  but this was by far the worst.

The shows we went to Les Miserables & Phantom were absolutely fantastic and couldn’t fault them, we had great seats too.  I love going to see the shows in London, it is one of my favourite things to do.

We were also very lucky with the weather, no rain and had a bit of sunshine so wasn’t too cold wandering around which was a bonus…

My next venture is to go on the Arcadia for 2 nights on 15th December with my work colleagues so look out for my blog on that.
