New Exciting Cruise Port Option.

Perhaps I am showing my age and I don’t know if anyone went or remembers this but a few years ago Airtours did a series of charter flights to Sanya in the South of China. Whilst the charter flights themselves were long and a little cramped the overwhelming opinion of the customers who visited here was that the beaches and area was very beautiful.

At the moment Sanya’s new cruise port is very limited with phase one having one terminal with a single ship berth taking ships up to 80,000 tons.

Why this area has not been developed long before this I do not know as its wonderful temperate climate is good all year round and is certainly ideal for cruise calls as well as cruise and stay options with its fantastic array of 4 and 5 star hotels such as the stunning Sanya Pearl River Garden Hotel shown below

Phase two of the development is now underway. Over $480 million dollars is being invested to add four more berths which will allow ships up to 225,000 tons to berth here, meaning the port can sustain the larger mega ships such as Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas.

And… That is not all, Phase two is part of a much larger development to be known as Phoenix Island.

This man-made Island will incorporate a seven star hotel and conference centre.

This cruise port will allow ships to visit areas in the South which are warmer when ports such as Beijing are cold and less inviting.

It will open up the South China Seas and as I mentioned before allow cruise and stay options with anything from a few days

to a relaxing week or more in one of the fabulous hotels on offer.

If you have been I would love to hear from you.

Don’t take my word for it. Take a look for yourself.
