Did the Eclipse tickle my taste buds??

She most certainly did! As you know I recently returned from a short cruise on board the Celebrity Eclipse. My first experience with Celebrity and as first impressions go they made a fantastic one!

One of the highlights for me was the food on board. The choice was amazing, the menu was full of varied and delicious options. The Moonlight Sonata is the main restaurant where we dined. What struck me as straight away was just how light it was. All creams and white , really luxurious. The wine tower stands tall, and is a great feature….I could do with a wine tower in my house! Did you know the most expensive bottle of wine is over $5000! wow….and yes you’re right I didn’t order one! The service in the restaurant was fantastic, one evening I must have shivered slightly with a bit of a chill from the air conditioning, the next minute the waiter took his jacket off to put around my shoulders! I didn’t even say a word, now that’s service for you.

Qsine is one of the most popular restaurant choices on board, it was so busy on the two night cruise we couldn’t get a table. My advice would be to pre book this before your cruise, that way you won’t miss out. This is the restaurant where you order your food from your Ipad! Even though I didn’t a chance to dine here I did get to see just what kind of food is on the menu during my ship tour. How does Disco Shrimp strike you, or Sushi Lolli Pops, the food looked amazing and so different to the usual meal you would be served on board. With a cover charge of around $45 it’s one not to be missed I think.  I was certainly intrigued and if I do get a chance to cruise again on board I will be booking my table here.

Tuscan Grille is another speciality on board, this is a Tuscan Steakhouse, my kind of restaurant and the menu looked amazing. My colleague dined here and she couldn’t recommend it enough. Think the traditional flavours of Italy with a contemporary twist. I loved the feel and atmosphere of this restaurant, just like being in a rustic Italian restaurant with lots of style. The cover charge here is $35 per person, well worth it!

If you want a fine dining choice on board there is no place better than Murano on board the Eclipse, a beautiful speciality restaurant with a cover charge of $45 per person. The menu here is based around classic French dishes again with a celebrity twist to make it unique and an experience you won’t forget. I think Murano would be perfect for a special occasion and there an exclusive table that you could pre book, which almost felt like you were in your own private restaurant.

You may have dined in Blu if you have cruised with Celebrity and booked into the Aqua Class accomodation, this is the restaurant exclusively for those guests. Beautiful restaurant yet again with a lovely relaxing atmosphere. Here the menu is a healthier option, based around the Mediterranean flavours and although healthier in no way less delicious! It’s open dining at Blu which gives you the freedom to dine as and when you want.

One of the best buffet style restaurants I have experienced is on board the Eclipse. The Bistro is an excellent option and the food choices here were never ending. Usually the buffet isn’t my favourite choice but on the Eclipse I thought it was one of the best at sea. Whether you wanted pizza and pastas, crepes, Mexican, Chinese, salad, fruit, cupcakes,  sandwiches, Sunday roast , the list goes on!

In a nut shell I loved the dining options on board the Eclipse, I was just sorry I wasn’t on a longer cruise so I could experience first hand all the different choices. The food, the service , the choice all excellent! Have you cruised with Celebrity? What did you think of the restaurants on board , which was your favourite? I would love to hear your thoughts.

Thank you for reading as always Abbi x
