Princess Cruises Unveils New Top-Deck Family Activity Zone Onboard Sun Princess

Princess Cruises’ newest addition to the fleet will feature Park19, a brand-new family activity zone located on the top decks of Sun Princess.

This fun-filled area will be the most engaging family zone ever featured on a Princess cruise ship when Sun Princess makes its debut in early 2024. Nine adventurous activities will fill the space located on decks 19, 20 and 21- allowing all ages to enjoy adrenaline-filled fun in the sun.

“Park19 as the name suggests is a new space created for all our guests, including activities to bring together multi-generational travel families in a location with spectacular views and fun outdoor activities for all. The new area was tailored based on guest feedback for more family and group activities spaces.”

John Padgett, Princess Cruises president

Sea Breeze

As the first Rollglider® on a cruise ship, Sea Breeze takes guests on a hang-gliding journey high above to enjoy panoramic views of the ocean and breathtaking ports of call.

Attached to an overhead track, simply strap in to the harness and enjoy this 60- to 90- second electric ride, reaching top speeds of 11mph.

Coastal Climb

Ascend from decks 19 to 20 and navigate your way through a series of obstacles on this exciting climbing structure. Take in the surrounding views before sliding back down to the bottom.

The Lookout

If you’re feeling brave, once reaching the top of the climbing structure, make your way to The Lookout open-air observation platform for stunning 360 degree views from the highest point available to guests on the entire ship!

The Net

Challenge your balance skills by trekking across unstable bridges, balance beams and climbing cargo nets, all while strapped securely in a harness.

Infinite Horizon

Another one for the daredevils and those with a head for heights, Infinite Horizon allows guests to peer out from deck 19 on leaning tilt walls over the side of the ship- looking down over the decks below.

Hammock Area

Take a break from exploring and relax with friends and family in Princess Cruises’ first ever Hammock Area.

Splash Zone

Cool off in the Splash Zone, featuring pop jets and an exquisite water sculpture- offering a refreshing and relaxing area to chill out.

Recreational Court

Fitness fanatics and activity lovers can keep active in this multifunctional sports court: featuring ping pong, shuffleboard, Xponential Fitness Classes, morning meditation and a rotation of exceptional sports and wellness options.

Jogging Track

Get your steps in on the open-air track, where guests can walk, jog or run at their own pace- travel 6.7 times around to reach the one mile mark!

Inclusive activities for kids and teens can also be found in Sun Princess’ Youth & Teen Centres located on decks six and seven. Here, families can find activities and age-appropriate areas for younger guests aged between six months and 17 years old.

Firefly Park

Designed for the youngest Princess Cruises guests, Firefly Park invites those aged six months to seven years old to explore, play and make new friends. Located on deck six, families can either play together or drop the kids off to get stuck in with art projects, themed parties and group games.

Babies and toddlers between six months and three years old are also invited to crawl and engage their senses with a fully dedicated play area. Additionally, after hours group babysitting is available from 10pm-1am for ages three to 12.

Neon Grove (tweens) and The Underground (teens)

Discover two separate areas on deck seven, offering an appealing space for tweens and teens to hang out, socialise and have a good time.

Featuring comfy sofas, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch gaming consoles, air hockey, foosball and skeeball, there’s no danger of boredom here! Here, these age groups can also enjoy programme activities such as ship scavenger hunts, movie nights, friendly competitions and dance parties.

“These expanded offerings give younger cruisers plenty to explore and enjoy aboard Sun Princess, creating an even more family-friendly experience with something for everyone regardless of age.”

John Padgett, Princess Cruises president

Once construction has finished, the 4,300 guest Sun Princess will also showcase an array of exciting new dining, entertainment, and activity offerings- alongside a broad spectrum of luxurious staterooms and suites.

Sun Princess will embark on her inaugural cruises in 2024, sailing to the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Transatlantic and Europe.
