P&O Cruises Brings Take That Musical Exclusively to Arvia

P&O Cruises have announced that Greatest Days – The Official Take That Musical is the latest of many additions to Arvia’s fabulous wealth of onboard entertainment.

Set to sail in December 2022, Arvia will be the only cruiseliner in the world to feature this enthralling production that is a must for all Take That fans. The stage musical, which is an adaptation of the acclaimed West End musical The Band, consists of many great Take That tracks and was written by the Olivier Award-winning Tim Firth. Greatest Days takes its name as a celebration of the upcoming film adaptation of The Band.

Taking the audience through a tale of friendship and music, Greatest Days centres on the lives of five 16-year-old girls in 1993 who are Take That mad. The musical follows their story as the girls reconvene in later life after 25 years apart as they attempt to live out their ultimate dream of meeting the band for who they have so much love.

Featuring the music of the most successful British boy band of all-time, Greatest Days boasts such Take That classics as Back for Good, Rule the World, Relight My Fire, Greatest Day, The Flood and Shine, among others.

The members of Take That commented: “Almost ten years ago, we had the idea of writing a musical with our songs. It was a big wish of ours to make a show with Take That’s music, but without us – not the story of our lives. Our wishes came true and five years ago we debuted The Band Musical to the world. Now we couldn’t be prouder to bring the story to P&O Cruises under its new name – Greatest Days.

“In Tim Firth we found an author who invented a completely different and wonderful story to which our music makes the perfect frame. A story with a lot of heart and friendship. A musical that shows how music brings friends together. The story works so wonderfully, you don’t even have to know our music!”

P&O Cruises president Paul Ludlow said: “We are delighted to have worked so closely with Take That to bring this fantastic story to the stage on board Arvia, exclusively for our guests. “With an amazing cast, handpicked from our Headliners Theatre performers, guests can look forward to a night of world-class entertainment to create a truly unique and extraordinary theatre experience.”

The latest addition to the expansive P&O Cruises fleet, Arvia is set to begin sailing from December 2022. Just like Iona, Arvia is another Excel class ship that benefits from yet further innovation and offers guests more freedom and variety while onboard.

Sailing to some of the finest destinations the Mediterranean and the Caribbean have to offer, Arvia is sure to supply no end of memorable moments while whisking guests away to gorgeous exotic locations in style.

A modern vessel that keeps proud tradition alive, Arvia is exemplary of P&O’s British fleet and brings together the best of both worlds without compromise. Packing onboard first-class dining opportunities with options for all, in combination with a wealth of entertainment options, Arvia leaves no stone unturned when it comes to customer experience.

On top of amazing food choices to delight any appetite and a quality stream of entertainment options, guests can look forward to thoughtfully crafted itineraries filling their cruise with even more unforgettable moments and exploration opportunities. Spanning from 7 up to 22 nights in length, there is something for everyone to enjoy amidst these exotic, blissful destinations.

A brand new cruise ship integrating the best of modern technology and innovation, Arvia follows in the footsteps of sister ship Iona when it comes to sustainability as it is powered by liquified natural gas (LNG). P&O Cruises have taken great lengths to show their commitment to sustainable travel solutions and Arvia epitomises exactly that.

This focus on sustainability that anchors Arvia is not limited to travel however, as the cruise liner is set to boast a new vegan restaurant. Green & Co features a plant-led menu populated with environmentally friendly food choices, perfect for vegans, vegetarians and flexitarians alike.
