Lighthouse Point in The Bahamas will welcome Disney Cruise Line guests in Summer 2024, as the line’s new one-of-a-kind island destination.
Located on the island of Eleuthera in The Bahamas, Disney Cruise Line’s new island experience will combine breathtaking natural beauty with the magic of Bahamian hospitality, storytelling and artistry. This vibrant retreat will celebrate the country’s unique culture, collaborating with local artists and advisors to bring it to life.
Recently, Disney Cruise Line revealed new details about Lighthouse Point. This includes a relaxing beach escape designed with a family focus, developed with a commitment to conservation, and infused with all the colour and energy of Bahamian artistry.
Sharon Siskie, senior vice president and general manager, Disney Cruise Line, said, “With the opening of Lighthouse Point, visitors from around the world will experience the magic of The Bahamas in a new way, one that truly celebrates its natural and cultural beauty.”
Unique and sustainable
Guests arriving at Lighthouse Point will be greeted with distinctive, sweeping architecture in bright colours; inspired by surrounding nature and created in partnership with local Bahamian artists.
At the curvilinear buildings, guests will witness artistic expressions of the native flora and fauna, along with the history of Junkanoo parades. References to playful folklore will also evoke warmth and charm throughout the destination.
Being respectful to the environment is at the forefront of the island’s design: using solar energy to power at least 90% of the destination’s electricity, designing the pier in a way to avoid the need for dredging, and incorporating elevated walkways to limit impact on the landscape.

At Lighthouse point, families will be able to enjoy a broad range of activities to suit every age and mood: whether this is relaxing on pristine beaches or embarking on action-packed adventures alongside your favourite Disney characters…
- Relax and play along the white sandy beaches and turquoise waters of the family beach on the island’s east side- centrally located near market-style dining, recreation and other amenities.
- Celebrate and learn about the traditions of The Bahamas at the Bahamian art and culture pavilion.
- Splash around at the interactive family water play area: featuring slides, water drums, fountains and more.
- Re-discover your inner child, with recreational activities including a covered gaming pavilion, volleyball court, bike rentals, and nature trails.
- Discover the adult-exclusive beach with a dedicated dining area and private cabanas, available by reservation.
- Guide children, aged 3 to 12, towards the themed kids’ club where they will be under the care of highly-trained Disney Cruise Line counsellors.
- Rent premium and family cabanas at the peaceful beach located along the south-western shore.
- Catch a glimpse of local wildlife in their unique island habitats, and observe the conservation efforts taking place.
- Get involved with the collection of new Port Adventures, in partnership with local tour operators, taking guests beyond Lighthouse Point to explore the beauty of Eleuthera.
