Earlier this week, Celebrity Constellation broke free from her moorings due to harsh conditions while docked at the port of La Spezia, Italy.
The Celebrity ship was forced to call at the port due to the gale force winds in the region at the time.
A video was posted on YouTube showing the ship adrift just off from the pier where it was next to Costa Magica.:
As the strong winds pushed Celebrity Constellation around, the aft hit the bow of the Costa ship; no injuries have been reported at this time.
Local Tug Boats came to the rescue and after a short period, the Celebrity ship was completely under control. The ship returned back to the pier and moored with no major damage.
Celebrity Constellation was coming to the end of an 11-night Mediterranean cruise which departed Civitavecchia on October 19th.
On October 29th, Celebrity Cruises replied to a tweet posted by a cruiser asking for an update on the situation, to which the line replied: “Thank you for your concern. All of our guests and crew on Celebrity Constellation are safe and the ship will arrive to Civitavecchia today at 2pm”.

Costa Magica remained docked at La Spezia port, waiting for the weather to improve, and departed early Tuesday morning, en route for Palma.
