Celebrity cruise will sail from Dublin in 2018

Celebrity cruises have announced that they will be offering cruises departing out of the port of Dublin in summer 2018!

What exciting news for Ireland and Northern Ireland. This move is the 1^st major cruise line to offer sailings out of Dublin. This year Dublin has seen 113 ships visit the port so it has proved how popular the port is.

Celebrity Eclipse is a 5* ship built in 2010. The ship is big! 3000 passengers at maximum capacity so this is a bold move by the cruise line. Do you think this will pay off?

Itineraries will include a 10 night cruise sailing to Belfast, Reykjavik and Akureyi in Iceland, Lerwick in Scotland and Cork in Ireland and an eight night cruise to the Norwegian Fjords. The Eclipse will then sail to Amsterdam for a number of departures and then on to Barcelona to finish the summer season.

I love the Eclipse! The ship offers plenty of space, the entertainment and food is 5*.

Even the cabins. I had an inside which was very roomy and bright.

My favourite features are the lawn club which offers a great space to not only dine but to enjoy the grass with games and picnics and also the atrium. This comes to life at night and the bustling feel is fantastic. You can listen to the live bands and watch the dancing from high up on the balconies whilst enjoying a cocktail from the Martini bar! Lovely!

For the last 7 years she has sailed out of Southampton offering varied itineraries to the Scandinavian capitals and the Mediterranean.

The Celebrity Silhouette will replace the Eclipse in Southampton for the summer season. The Silhouette is very similar to the Eclipse just 1 year younger.

I have booked many guest from Ireland who sail from UK so surely this will be popular and I am sure Celebrity will have completed plenty of market research.

It will also be a great opportunity to spend some time in Dublin and I guess this will be really popular with guests for the USA and other European countries.
