Black Friday – what will you be buying?

Black Friday is an American tradition which officially kicks off the Christmas shopping season. Black Friday began back in 1932 and takes place the Friday following thanks giving in USA.

It has only become popular in the last couple of years in the UK and last year saw massive discounts in a mad rush to pick up a bargain. I remember innocently heading to the toy shop on a local industrial estate a couple of years ago. Good job I was there early, I only just managed to get a parking spot and the queues were crazy!

This year I am going to be much more prepared!

You need to be super organised or it can all go terribly wrong!

My big tips are….

Make a list of what you want

Do not deviate from the list

Have a look on-line to get an idea of how much you are likely to pay and if you can get some extra money off, brilliant!

Check to see who does a price match policy, this could save a lot of time

Try not to be tempted by offers which offer saving if you spend so much. For example. Spend £100 and save 20%. You will end up purchasing stuff you don’t need.

Sales normally continue until the end of the month, if you have no time on the Friday. Most deals will continue Saturday and Sunday. Make sure you check specifics and availability.

Save time by ordering/ shopping on-line.

So what about cruises?

Princess cruise, Celebrity, Royal Caribbean and Thomson cruise all have deals running over the weekend so it is worth a look if you are planning to book for next year.

Royal Caribbean and Princess also have an additional benefit of a low deposit so it won’t interfere with your Christmas shopping. Buy now and pay later.
