Celebrity Cruises – Silent Disco

Celebrity Cruises are a Modern Luxury cruise brand and as such they like to try newer, more modern ideas than their more traditional counterparts from time to time.

One perfect example of this is the silent disco that Celebrity currently have on-board. They have plenty of headsets to go round which they make sure are sanitised before being given to the next user.

Rather than everyone listening to the same song they have 3 channels of sound which can be changed by pressing a button on the headphones, the channel you are listening to will be shown to everyone by the colour that your headphones glow, red, blue or green.

The music played is normally classic songs that most will want to sing along to and many that have distinctive dance moves.  Whilst you are listening you may notice other listeners really getting into a song, if you want to see what they are listening to you can just switch to the same colour as them and off you go.

To many this might seem like an odd concept but I can tell you that these were really popular when I was on the Eclipse and everybody seemed to be having a really good time.

I think it’s great that Celebrity are trying new ideas like this rather than the more traditional tried and tested forms of entertainment.
