I love that Royal Caribbean are constantly updating.

Royal Caribbean have announced that they are carrying out $90 million worth of revitalisations to the Mariner of the Seas. This ship was launched in 2003 and is only 15 years, yet she is to undergo this massive refurbishment and is in line with the changes that are also being undertaken on board Independence of the Seas.

One of the new additions to the ship is the Sky Pad, which is a virtual reality trampoline area. Jumpers will be harnessed in and will wear a virtual reality digital headset. This will give them the sensation of bouncing in another time and world. Personally I think bouncing whilst on a cruise ship and with a headset on will lead to a lot of sick children but I guess Royal Caribbean have tested this out.

The Perfect Storm will be adjacent to the Sky Pad, this is a new water zone with a 40 foot Flow-Rider and water slides.

For adults, the Bamboo Room will offer a retro feel and cool cocktails and Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade will show live sports with the associated beers and wings that are served in any good sports bar. Starbucks is being added to the ship for the coffee connoisseur.

Royal Caribbean are constantly updating their ships. Navigator of the Seas, a Voyager Class sister ship was ‘revitalised’ in 2014 and Independence is launching her new look this summer.
This shows a real commitment to their customers and the customer experience and helps to keep Royal at the top of the cruise market. “Well Done Royal”
