Magical Time in Disney World.

I am back from spending 2 amazing weeks in  Walt Disney World Florida with my husband and 3 daughters.

We had a great holiday and lived the Disney life to the fullest, experiencing everything it had to offer. Having been twice before we once again booked an on site hotel staying this time at Disney Port Orleans hotel. It was a great hotel with a Deep Southern theme and a great location for exploring all the park with its great transportation to all the parks and take full advantage of the Disney magic extra hours.

This really was a fun filled holiday rather than a relaxing beach break. We spent everyday and night at the Disney theme parks on thrilling rides, watching fantastic show, firework displays and simply living the Disney dream.

Having been to both Paris and Florida its so clear to see the differences. The Americans just have the experience down to a fine art, the staff are all so friendly and helpful, they really take on a role with in their jobs . On days when my daughters dressed up from the minute we entered Magic Kingdom they were treated like the character they were dressed as, and this little attention to details really amazed my children.

If you read my last blog before I left you will see this was going to be the first time we had used the new “Magic Band System” which was rolled out at the start of January this year. Overall I was really impressed with these. At check-in we were given a gift boxed with our bands in which we had designed and personalised before we left the UK.

From the minute we got them they were active and allowed us into the rooms, parks, our room account, fast passes, dining plan and photo pass. They were great! it was nice leaving the room in the morning and not having to think “have I got my key, my park pass” ect… it was all there in one place.  We really rated them however there were people complaining about them. Their main issue seemed to be that you are now limited to just 3 fast passes a day but this didn’t both us at all, as we were able to book these days and weeks in advance we could plan ahead to make the most of the 3 we had. Also you were able to change these via the Disney App on the day so if you arrived and one of the queues of the fast pass you had was small you could swap them over.  The other thing they should keep in mind that other theme parks in the area charge up to $40per person per day for fast passes therefore getting 3 day is better than paying for them or not getting any at all.

The only downfall I can really see is for visitor that don’t stay in Disney hotels, as they don’t receive the “Magic Bands”. They still use the ticket cards and for them to get the fast passes they can only be booked on the day at stations throughout the parks however for rides like Sorin or Toy Story Mania they will not stand a chance at getting one as they are so busy. Hopefully this is something Disney will sort out soon.

Apart from a few days of cooler weather and 1 day of rain we seemed to pick a brilliant time to travel. The weather was sunny and warm and the parks were not too busy apart from the “International High School Cheerleading championships” invading, we timed our holiday just right. The day we left the park was at bursting point with Half term and presidents week starting.

So now I am back to help you!  What a week to come home to the cruising world is positively buzzing with the main cruise companies all getting ready to launch their newest fleet members and we are very busy at cruise.co.uk HQ. SO if you are interested in finding out more information or pre registering for either Britannia or Anthem of the seas. Or simply talking to me about a future cruise holiday feel free to call me directly on 0800 408 6160 or drop me a email at [email protected].
