I have just returned from our fantastic annual Christmas conference and in true Cruise.co.uk fashion  we had a amazing weekend . We were very lucky enough this year to be invited by Cunard to experience the matriarch of their fleet Queen Mary 2, for 3 nights from Southampton to Bruges for the wonderful Xmas markets.

As many of you know the majority of us are homeworkers and are dotted all over the United Kingdom,  although we speak most days on the phone and bump into each other sometimes during the year on trips, this annual occasion is a chance for us all to get together, catch up with some great friends and in some case meet for new ones for the first time. I think I can safely say after 3 nights and just 10 hours sleep everyone has caught up, danced and partied enough to keep us going till next Xmas.

This was my first experience of Cunard and she certainly lived up to all my expectations of her Royal background. The ship itself was extremely classy and elegant with lots of history throughout.

Personally my favourite part was their Christmas festivities and decorations the QM2 in all her Xmas grace had the most beautiful Tree in the main atrium plus many more throughout the ship plus wreaths, ornaments, nutcracker soldiers, poinsettias , a nativity scene and twinkling lights.

The standout piece for me hand to be the Chief Annual Ginger bread village I have never seen anything like it (and coming from a cake baking enthusiast like me that is unbelievable)

Overall I really enjoyed the ship the food in the main Britannia restaurant for the evening meal was divine, fantastic staff and the atmosphere was classic and relaxed. We did try the Britannia for a lunch and Breakfast but I must admit I was much happier on with the food in the Kings Court Buffet restaurant for the selection of food.

I was very pleased with our outside Cabin with port hole on deck 6 ,it was much bigger than I had expected or had seen on previous cruise ships with so much more floor space. The staff were very attentive and whenever we called for anything were very quick to respond and always helpful.

I had a Brilliant weekend on board QM2 and would recommend one of these Xmas mini breaks to anyone. They are great for someone pre Xmas shopping or escaping the festive madness.

I would like to thank Cunard, Cruise.co.uk and our other guests for the weekend including Princess, P&O, RCCL, APT, Fred Olsen and Oceania it was a lovely to see you all.

If you have missed out this year but would love to know more about this mini breaks or any other Cunard offers for 2015 please call me directly on 0330 303 8260 or email me at [email protected]
