There goes my ship, let me swim after it!!!

Yes it’s true, a story that hit the national news of a lady that tried to swim after her cruise after some big misunderstandings with her husband and her common sense.

Marco-polo

In Madeira the ship then left as per schedule when pensioner Susan Brown aged 65(!!!) tried to swim to the ship after it left port..

Clutching her handbag the whole time.

It is believed Mrs Brown and her husband had disembarked the ship early in order to get a flight back to the UK. At the airport it is believed she lost her husband, and thinking he had returned to the ship, she made her way back to the port and tried swimming to the ship after it left port.

Mrs Brown was found, suffering from Hypothermia in the Atlantic Ocean, by local fisherman around midnight on Sunday. She was around 500 metres from the coast, when the fisherman heard her cries for help.

The local port captain explained what had happened:-

“She was 500 metres from the coast when fishermen heard her shouting. When they reached her she was clinging onto a handbag she had been swimming with.”

“She was very lucky to survive. She was in the water for more than three hours and was suffering from the effects of hypothermia when she was rescued by fishermen who heard her cries for help around 12.20am on Sunday.”

Cruise and Maritime did advise that both passengers requested to leave the ship early rather than carry on with their journey to Southampton. They also confirmed that Mr Brown had not returned to the ship as his wife had thought.

Mrs Brown is said to be in a stable condition.

No news on her husband and where he actually was but the 2 need to have a little sit down and maybe slap each other round the face with the stupid brush.

Thank goodness she was found.
