Mystery Hotels, Mystery cabins, now ‘Mystery cruises’!!!

Over the years I have booked many products where you don’t know what you are getting until arrival.

For example there was the

  • Accommodation on arrival deal that holiday companies introduced to get hotels filled
  • Mystery Airport Hotels
  • Guarantee cabins, book a grade and get that as a minimum

Well now Fred Olsen are introducing the Mystery cruise!!

Sailing from Tilbury, Essex, The Black Watch will do a 14 night Mystery cruise departing on the 15th November.

Fred Olsen promise a surprise for each day of the cruise.

And to keep with the theme Writer and broadcaster Mei Trow whose recent projects include Ancient Discoveries shown on the the History Channel and The Black Museum shown on the Crime Channel will be joining the cruise to do some lectures entitled ‘The Mysteries of the Sea’.

There are only 2 people that know the itinerary, 1 being Fred Olsen’s Itinerary cruise planner and the other at this stage is also a mystery, hopefully it’s the captain.

There is a clue to 1 port of call which the ship will do an overnight in. The clue is that it is Fred Olsen’s favorite port of call as voted by those that sail with Freds.

For those that do not know much about Fred Olsen.

They have 4 ships that generally are based in ports all around the UK including Greenock, Liverpool, Belfast, Dover, Southampton, Portsmouth , Harwich, Rosyth and Dublin.

Balmoral is the largest ship at just 43,500 tonnes accommodating up to 1350 passengers.

With their ships being small this allows them to get into different ports that the more modern and larger ship can not do.

So a Mystery Cruise, Would you do it?

Going on a 2 week cruise from Tilbury, can you predict the ports of call?
