Cunard’s 175th Anniversary celebration details released

To mark the 175th Anniversary of Cunard’s 1st sailing Cunard have put together some not to be missed.

 

To mark this historic event there will be 5 special cruises which go on sale on the 11th March for 2 days, exclusively for CWC members at Platinum and Diamond status. from the 13th March these sailings go on sale to the general public. Prices will hold until 2pm on the 13th and from then on will change in reflection to the sales of the 1st 3 days.

Cunard will celebrate its historic anniversary in style with all three Queens meeting in Cunard’s spiritual home of Liverpool on 25th May 2015. It will be the first ever three Queens meeting on the river Mersey. On 24th May 2015 QUEEN MARY 2 will arrive in Liverpool and will stay overnight. The next morning her sister ships will arrive on the river Mersey creating an unprecedented three Queens spectacle in Liverpool.

For this historic occasion, passengers will have the opportunity to sail on Queen Elizabeth and embark or disembark in Liverpool. These two special cruise options are a Baltic cruise from Southampton on 11th May to Liverpool on 25th May, or a short cruise break from Liverpool on 25th May to Southampton on 27th May.

 

On 4th July 2015, 175 years to the day when Britannia departed on her maiden transatlantic voyage, QUEEN MARY 2 will re-enact the original transatlantic crossing. She will depart Southampton and call at Liverpool, Halifax, Boston and New York
As part of this cruise event Cunard will be offering embarkations or disembarkations in Liverpool. Passengers will have the opportunity to Sail from Southampton on 2nd July to Liverpool on 4th July on a short cruise break, or cross the Atlantic from Liverpool on 4th July to New York on 14th July.

 

QUEEN VICTORIA will call at Cobh on 7th May 2015 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the sinking of RMS Lusitania off the coast of Cobh on 7th May 1915. Passengers will be invited to attend ceremonies and events at the large town memorial and cathedral.

For those unaware the RMS Lusitania was hit by a Torpedo in WW1, Cunard played a big supporting role to our nation during WW1 as floating hospitals, haulage and battle ships.

With the climax of all 3 queens docking together this will be a patriotic, cruise lover and photographers dream come true.
