Scarlet Lady

The Scarlet Lady is coming. Who is she I hear you ask? Well, she’s going to be the first of Sir Richard Branson’s new cruise ships. Scarlet Lady will be her name. Like you see on the Virgin fleet of Aircrafts they all have a name along the side of them and his cruise ships will be no different. I personally am looking forward to his cruises and I will make sure I get to visit one. A ship visit or even my own holiday. I do like Richard Branson and I am a fan of his Virgin Flights so naturally I want to see his cruise ships. They will be the most environmentally cleanest fleet at sea.  This initiative includes banning plastic items on board including straws, bottled water, other beverage bottles, condiment packets, shopping bags, food packaging, stirrers, and take-away coffee and tea cups. Instead, the company will emphasize the use of recyclable and reusable materials across the ship. The Virgin Voyages will be ready to set sail in 2020

These will be 18+ and aimed at those who would never set foot on a cruise. Didn’t we once have Ocean Village for those who don’t do cruises? I’m sure this will be much different. I am already wondering if you will be able to book using Virgin Air miles or obtain miles for each sailing. You do with his Aircraft’s and trains by being a member of the Flying club. I’ll wait and see on that one but I wouldn’t be surprised. As Virgin is now a direct sale only and not through travel agents I wonder if this will be the same and if agents will be able to book you on a virgin Voyage or if it will be a direct sale only. Time will tell. Check back for updates as soon as I have them.
