From the Premier League’s Elite to Cleaning a Toilet seat

Now here is something you don’t see every day. An ex-Footballer who use to earn 10k a week as a professional footballer now works on a ship. Former premier league player Kevin Kyle who once played for Sunderland in the top tier of English football as well as Rangers in Scotland, has swapped that life for cleaning toilets and stacking boxes on a ship.

Kyle works on the Regina Baltic ship in Lerwick’s remote Mairs Quay. Quite a career difference now for him. Once scoring goals and had admitted a gambling problem as much as 7k a week reported with his addiction.

Now his football career is behind him he’s away from the high life of how footballers live and earning an honest living to try and provide for his family.

A credit to him really as we all know some of these big earners in top flight football think they’re in a world of their own. Wages are ridiculously high and it’s the fans who suffer and pay towards their salary but that’s another story.
