Feeling ‘flush’ after Christmas?… this cruise is a snip at £89,598.

So following recent blogs, mainly bad news about passengers getting kicked off ships and fatal fires on board I thought this week I’d write about something we can all relate to a little more – the £85,598 cruise.

Regent Seven Seas have unveiled plans for the largest, and almost certainly the most expensive, cruise ship suite at sea. The brand new Seven Seas Explorer will be an all-suite ship, and at $450 million, the most expensive luxury vessel ever built.

Debuting in July 2016 she will feature the spectacular Regent Suite.

Check out these images.

The Regent Suite will measure a staggering 3,875ft² – almost four times the size of an average family home!

The cost for 2 sharing the Regent Suite on the ship’s inaugural 14-night cruise from Monte Carlo to Venice on July 20 2016?

A paltry £42,799 per person. That’s £85,598 in total – or a shade over £6,114 a night.

By comparison, the Renaissance Suite at the Four Seasons Hotel in Florence is only 925ft² and costs £3,350 a night, and Foxhill Manors’ Oak Suite is a measly 753ft² and costs £3,500 a night.

Bookings are open for members of the Regent’s Seven Seas Society on January 19th, however if you’re not a member you’ll simply have to curb your enthusiasm and wait until February 4th.

So come on, what are you waiting for?

As a footnote I’d be very interested to hear what you consider to be an expensive cruise.

Bye for now.
