30th Years of Success!

Here at Cruise.co.uk we are very proud to have celebrated 30 healthy Years in the Industry. Born as Victoria travel in August 1984 funded by Andrew Gardner, is a well established family-run business that has come a long way since then. It started with just 2 employee and she has seen the growth over the years with 150 members of staff.

With the passing of the years we have seen the cruise market change and take new paths. The past few years have seen a staggering number of new river cruise ships hit the waterways of Europe, with this massive growth in River cruising and the launch of so many new ships and destinations which have contributed to our growth. New ships are on order with nearly every river cruise line. In some cases, these ships feature entirely new design elements. One of the most interesting destinations has to be The Danube Cruise and the Mekong river Cruise which deserves a mention as being equally number one on river cruisers lists.

As to Ocean liners, ships are getting bigger and bigger, and people are sometimes struggling to enjoy every aspect of their holiday. I think people should really relax and enjoy the whole cruising experience. With so much available on most cruises it is a shame to miss a lovely destination or tour when this could add so much to the overall enjoyment of the holiday. But the future is bright, i think probably ships may get smaller but it is technology that will change cruising with more online and internet options meaning people can easily add extras to their holiday at a lower rate.

We recently held a 30^th anniversary weekend cruise on board the Braemar, Fred Olsen. The reason why we chose this ship is because we became particularly well known for our Garden Themed Cruises, working in conjunction with the BBC. We packaged these events by taking guests on Fred Olsen ships, offering cruise and excursions to famous gardens around the world. We invited approximately 300 guests to enjoy this celebration, including famous celebrities who have previously hosted our Garden Themed cruise packages, such as Alan Titchmarsh, Matthew Biggs, Will Giles, David Hurrion, Tony Russell and Ashley Stevenson.
