Good idea Fred????

Adult-onlyFred Olsen has recently released their Worldwide 2016/17 Cruise Brochure with the surprising reveal that 20 of their cruises are going to be adult only. On hearing this news I presumed these cruises would be the more adventurous itineraries which would really not effect things too much, so I was surprised to see they are actually sailings a little more close to home such as their British and Portuguese island dates.

Obviously this change has come about off the back of customer feedback. I think this is a shame as I have booked many families on Fred’s before, mainly Grandparents treating their Grandchildren and sometimes 3-4 generations of one family travelling together, which lets face it I think is one of the main USP’s of cruising. ‘You can have a wide range of ages holidaying together but all have an individual holiday experience’

I do however also appreciate that the average age of Fred’s passengers is in the more mature category, I just hope this is not a sign of further changes to come, and that Fred’s goes 100% adult only. This would hugely reduce the option of smaller ships travelling from the UK which extended families are able to choose from.

What do you think good decision Fred???
