A ‘Grand’ arrival from Dublin for Celebrity

Aerial Celebrity Eclipse Celebrity Eclipse - Celebrity Cruises

Great new just released, Celebrity cruises are going to be basing one of their Solstice Class ships in Ireland for a short season in 2018.

She will be sailing in and out of Dublin and will most probably be offering Northern Europe itineraries. I think this is fantastic news for Ireland. I’ve had so many Irish passengers over the years having to trek to Southampton to join the start of their cruise by plane, train, or never ending car/ferry journeys, I imagine they will be delighted with this news, and will be watching this space to see when these voyages will go on sale.

It has mainly been Fred Olsen offering sailings out of Belfast over the past few years with the odd ship also hosting the random one off voyage, so to have such a leading cruise line such as Celebrity basing itself there in 2018 is fantastic.

Many years ago I worked for Falcon Holidays and thoroughly enjoyed helping my Irish passengers on a day to day basis, they were so much fun, really easy going, and great entertainment, I bet the Solstice Class ships will be fighting over who gets this ‘lucky’ break as they will be some of the most memorable sailings.

It is estimated that this move could possibly bring 6 million euro to Dublin in tourism as well as many more profitable economic benefits. I can’t wait to start to tell Irish passengers about these sailings, I’m certain they will have no problem filling these sailing at all.

Dublin has been trying to get a ship based in their magical Port for quite a while now, so hopefully with the success of these sailings, this move by Celebrity may encourage more cruise lines to follow suit.

Watch this space I’ll let you know when these sailings will go on sale.
