Norovirus on Dawn Princess

A norovirus outbreak on the Dawn Princess is well on the way to being resolved according to Princes cruises.

Earlier media reports had indicated 198 passengers had been affected by the illness and confined to there cabins while sailing around New Zealand. Norovirus is a gastrointestinal illness that causes flu like symptoms, including sickness and low grade fever. Nobody like’s feel ill at anytime but it most be the worst feeling when you have saved all year for this dream holiday to then come down with this illness and be confined to your cabin till you get over it, I know when I’m ill all I want to do is be at my own home in my own bed feeling sorry for myself.

I couldn’t think of anything worse then being poorly on a cruise ship especially confined to my cabin, I know the staff would have looked after people and the cabins are nice but to be poorly and confined to your cabin 24 hours a day I think I would have been going out of my mind.

I’ve been ill this week with a cold and I do feel sorry for myself when I’m ill all I wanted to do is stay in bed and sleep. now for this to have happened when people had saved to go on this once in a lifetime trip from New Zealand is such a shame I really do hope that Princess cruises have been looking after these customer’s and made it a best as they can for them at this awful time.
