Passenger conduct

i was speaking to a lady this morning about a possible cruise and she asked me to look for adult only ships.

Apparently on her last cruise she had a bad experience with people allowing their children to run riot and she will now only consider adult ships.

While most people are responsibile and bring their children up to know how to behave appropriately unfortunately there are some who don’t and are much more concerned about sitting in the bar getting their moneys worth of their drinks packages.

I know exactly what she means because i had a similar experience last year.

There was a group of teenage children who were left to their own devices. They had no manners and were rude to everyone including the staff.

I was waiting for a lift one day along with this group of children and the lift opened but the doors shut again quickly so they ran and jumped at the lift and kicked it very hard. There was a crew member standing by who said nothing but i was really angry that they were allowed to behave like this.

I was on there during half term so there were more children than normal which probably didn’t help. They obviously learnt their poor manners from their family because they were just as rude especially when queing in the buffet as they seemed to think they could just push to the front !!

Don’t get me wrong this isn’t common on cruises and it was the first time i had experienced that so i would still be happy to go on family friendly ships and i would take my children any time because i know i can trust them to behave.

Have you had any similar experience ?
