Serve your own beer on the P&O Britannia

DSC01801

I was fortunate enough to have sailed on the new P&O Britannia last week for the two night pre-inaugural sailing.

I still haven’t had time to write in more depth what I thought about P&O’s newest, largest and most extravagant ship so I thought I would do this post about this self service beer machine which I found in the buffet area.

I had previously posted a video when I was on Celebrity cruises about their self service wine machines (which P&O also have plenty of on the Britannia) and was disappointed that at the time rather than just swiping your cruise card on the machine you had to go and buy a pre-paid separate card with credit on to use in the machines.

This beer serving machine just uses a swipe from your room key card and let’s you pour your own beer, only charging you per millilitre for the amount you dispense.

I love the fact that when you get your lunch in the buffet, rather than having to flag a waiter down and wait about you can just pour a pint and take it over to your table.  The machine served Carling or Stella, you can watch it in the action in the video below.

If you are interested in the Britannia more in general I will post something else in more detail soon, so watch this space.
