January, peak holiday booking seas

January is back again and the season of holiday bookings is at it’s peak.

Lots of holiday companies are advertising on television and everyone seems to be talking about, thinking about and booking their next holidays.

January has historically always been a very busy time for us here at cruise.co.uk but I have to say that this year is one of the busiest I have known so far.  Our phone lines have been ringing off the hook, emails and new enquiries are coming in thick and fast.

I have heard reports of people having to queue at some travel agencies to make bookings and one client I spoke to recently who hadn’t booked with us before thought he would call us as there were queue’s at his local agency, it’s so much easier booking over the phone at a place of your convenience rather than queuing in a busy shop in my opinion.

The reason January is so busy is that most people want to start the year by getting a nice cruise booked, it’s always good to have something to look forward to.  Also January sales are in full force with the cruise line’s all competing to give the best special offers to entice cruisers to book.

One of the main trends of special offers with a few companies now is the inclusion of drinks packages with the cruise, I think that this is an excellent idea as it makes the cruise more of an all-inclusive style product.  It’s always nicer to know that you can have a drink when you like and not have that feeling that your on-board bill is constantly growing in the background.

I am looking forward to this year, I already have some excellent ship visits announced including trips on the new P&O Britannia as well as the new Royal Caribbean ship, the Anthem of the Seas.  I can’t wait to see how these two very popular brand new ships compare and find out which one of them is going to be my favourite !
