Go On…I Dare You!

This Sunday, my daughter and I are taking my Dad on a Segway trip for his birthday. I rode my first Segway last year for my birthday and loved it and so thought it would make a nice present.

Segway

What I really love about this kind of activity is that it’s a bit different and that’s what I love most when on holiday, trying something different.

I am lucky to have travelled to many places and tried many different things whilst away. I have parascended in Cyprus, gone fishing in a dug-out mango tree in Kenya, ridden quad bikes and camped under the stars in Ayers Rock and gone up in helicopters and hot air balloons. I have climbed the O2 in London and Sydney Harbour Bridge, been to a Halloween party in Quebec, dived in the Great Barrier Reef, snorkelled in the Caribbean and the Cook Islands and the Maldives, kayaked in the Norwegian Fjords, cycled in Mauritius……..

That's a big canyon below the helicopter!

You get the picture, I like trying something new and I love visiting new places. I think that’s one of the reasons I love cruising (and I love my job) as you see so many places in one holiday.

Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against a standard city tour if on my first visit but if that isn’t for you or you’ve been to that port before, why not look out for a new adventure. These are the sort of things the best holiday memories are made of.

Next year, I have booked a big holiday to New Zealand and I am now researching all the things to do in each port. Do you plan each day on holiday or just see what happens?

What have you done that’s really different?

Try something new…go on I dare you (you may just enjoy it)!
