Can you travel without an egg slicer?

I recently wrote about genuine holiday complaints including one from an irate customer of a well-known UK tour operator who complained that there was no egg slicer in her apartment! This must have caused such great distress that they felt the need to write and complain.

So… what could you not do without on your travels? If you could only pack one item (aside from essential clothing and a passport!) what would it be?

There are the obvious ones…Kindle, ipad, ipod, mobile phone, camera….

I could not do without a good body lotion and a big bottle of hair conditioner (boring but I have very thick hair and dry skin).

And it would really annoy me if I forgot the travel plugs and chargers that go with all the above electronic gadgetry.

Are you one of those people who has to take your favourite tea bags wherever you go?

So what would my one ESSENTIAL item be…..???
