Amazing Azamara

Once again I have been lucky enough to experience another fantastic ship. This time it was for 7 nights of Azamazing luxury. Yes The Azamara Club Cruises, Journey. This is my first small ship experience and I must say I truly enjoyed every minute. I was a little concerned at first as I thought I would feel sea sick and being on deck 5 so close to the water concerned me slightly. Oh no, it was no different than the big ships with regard to movement. Our Ocean view cabin was elegantly decorated as was the whole ship, she had undergone a refurb quite recently so a feel of newness was all around. I joined my colleague Zara in Rome for our Journey to Civitavecchia which took less than an hour. Boarding was hassle free and we were in our stateroom with 10 minutes.az cabinaz cabin 2 zara

First impressions were just as expected Country Club Chique, tasteful, bright, warm and very friendly. They say average age is 55 plus, however there was all age groups from children and teens although few to eighty plus but very young at heart eight plus.

After a quick tour to get our bearings we made our way to the Patio for a light lunch washed down with a glass of wine or two. Drinks are included in your fare which gives you wine of the day a selection of spirits, cocktails and beers. You can upgrade should you wish but I did not feel the need. Even on a day that I did not like the wine of the day our lovely waiter offered to get me the one from yesterday which was delicious and no trouble at all.

We spent the afternoon exploring at taking photos for use on our website on our return and once on deck we noticed Harmony of the Seas, Ventura and Queen Victoria moored further along from us.az har ven

We decided to book the two speciality restaurants for later in the week but they deserve their own blog. I did take a picture with Harmony in view out of the window, what do you thinkital

That evening as we had an early start we dined in The Galleries which is the main dining venue but did not have that huge feel. It was cosy intimate without being uncomfortable for two ladies . Staff were very attentive and the food was excellent. Wine topped up rather too often even for me, but we enjoyed our evening chatting to two Americans from San Francisco at the next table who had travelled many times with Azamara and loved it. Time for bed for early start in Sorrento. The beds were heaven, white crisp linen luxurious pillows and mattress when the alarm went off I ignored it and snuggled back for half an hour. We were tendered so no rush.az breakasf in bed

After breakfast in bed their room service menu is amazing, azamazing we headed into Sorrento. More about ports of call next time.
