Vietnam…….You are crazy

v1

I have been lucky enough to have travelled all over Asia and I have come across all kinds of crazy stuff and I can confirm that every one of these pictures are genuine, and to be honest I have been guilty enough of doing some of these myself ! It’s crazy but the police let this happen all the time, however if you are not wearing a helmet they will pull you over and fine you. One of the many crazy rules that they have in Vietnam is this one.

It is perfectly legal for you to use your phone when driving but it is illegal to use your phone at a red light !!! (How mental is that)

How about this one

It is illegal to ride a motorbike without a helmet but if you have a passenger on the back who is not wearing one, that is ok !

And if you fancy having a drink there is no minimum age in Vietnam, so even before you are out of nappies, you can have your first drink.

What about this one

Apparently there is or was a law stating that small-breasted women are not allowed to drive a car.  Define small.  Ladies here are small in general.  Supposedly the law was due to a belief that large breasts indicate strength.  Super boobies!  Another weird law forbids dancing in karaoke bars in an effort to curb drug use.  Good luck enforcing that one.

and if you want to rent a car in Vietnam, I’m afraid you can’t, ONLY VIETNAMESE CAN HAVE A  DRIVERS LICENSE – By law, only Vietnamese people can obtain a drivers licence. Some foreigners through a little bribery or kind favours have been able to get one. Your foreign drivers license has no validity in Vietnam. This includes the “International Drivers License”. Vietnam does not recognise them at all.

So all in all who knows what you need to look out for, but if you are lucky enough to get to visit Vietnam, I can guarantee you will see most of what is depicted on the pictures below.
