Transfer Please

Hi again cruisers

It has been a couple of weeks since I got back from my trip to Thailand and I had an amazing time as always, unfortunately it is now time to fall back into reality!!!

If you had read my last blog concerning my lost luggage and found that just a little interesting I thought I would now talk about transfers, and by transfers I don’t mean to use it in the football term! Many more customers nowadays are packaging up their cruise with a pre and post stay, this is a great way to make your cruise an even better experience, so customers may choose to spend a couple of nights in a hotel before the cruise or depend a couple of nights in a hotel after the cruise, either way you will all need to find a way to get from the hotel to the ship and visa versa. There are a couple of options with regards to getting to about

Taxi

This can be a great service to use, however on busy days especially if there are a few cruise ships in at the same time it can get very busy and you might need to wait around until a taxi is free, trust me it can take up to an hour in most European ports. Most taxis are metered, however you really have no idea in what condition the vehicle is in and who the driver really is !

Shared Transfers

These can work out a cheaper option however, there can be long waiting times while the coach waits until it has full occupancy, something also to remember is that there maybe a few stops on the way, this is especially important to know if you are travelling from an airport to a hotel for your stay before or after your cruise, there maybe a few different hotels others are staying at. this would probably be my last option if it was the only service available.

Private Transfers

The only way to go really, yes they are the most expensive out if the 3 options but they will really make things as smooth as possible, once you arrive at the airport collected your cases you will be met by the driver holding your name up on a board, he will then take you straight to your private car and whisk you away, no waiting around, no slumming it with 50 other people, just you and the car straight to your destination. It is the only service I ever use, the last thing you want to be doing is waiting around for a taxi or a shared transfer, if you have just arrived from a long flight. The cars are normally high end Mercs, Audis or something similar, sometimes even a high end mini bus.

So remember to choose wisely when organising your next cruise experience
