Southampton Port

Hey Cruisers

Hope you are all well

It has been a busy week for me, P&O have just released sales for it’s new ship coming in 2020 Iona. Next week will be just as busy as P&O are opening up their 2020 schedules for all their other ships for 2020.

So if you are planning on a cruise for 2020 this is the time to book, they are offering great discounts for all, so don’t miss out.

This leads me onto the UK Port it will sail from……..Southampton, the busiest cruise port in the UK, I get asked many questions about the port and most I can answer right away, some of the most common questions are “What hotel is the best to book, “Where is the best place to park my car” and “where is the best area to stay in if I get there the night before my cruise”

The port is spread over quite a large area and can get a bit confusing, however the directions for each ship and terminal are always sign posted the day of the departure, you will normally notice that cruise lines do not always confirm the terminal prior to your cruise as changes can be made right up to the night before, obviously they do not want thousands of people all turning up at the wrong terminal, if late changes have been made to the terminal

So with all that in mind I have added a link at the bottom of this blog that should answer all your questions.

The Port of Southampton is the busiest cruise terminal in the UK and second largest container port. Located on the south coast it benefits from a sheltered location, unique ‘double tides’, close proximity to the motorway network and good rail links. It’s been owned and operated by Associated British Ports since 1982.

A lot of cruisers that use Southampton prefer to stay the night before their cruise and enjoy everything that Southampton has to offer. Where should you stay though? What should you do? Click on the below link and it should answer some of your questions………
