River cruising – It’s all included !

Unlike most Ocean Cruise Lines the majority of River Cruise Lines are either All Inclusive or Full Board including Drinks with Dinner and Lunch. It’s a refreshing thought knowing you won’t have a sour taste, after a fantastic cruise, from the massive bill at the end of your cruise.

Right from the beginning of your River Cruise Holiday you will notice the difference between from an Ocean Cruise, with flights and transfers or rail (if available) included – plus many Lines offer regional flights at no extra cost! Some River Cruise Lines like Avalon and Uniworld even include private door to door transfers to take you to the airport or Train Station.

Once your onboard you’ll also realise that River Cruise Lines appreciate the small things with some lines offer complimentary Wi-Fi access, free Gratuities, professional services of a Cruise Director and most ships have no inside cabins meaning you’ll have an outside cabin at no extra cost.

Another thing which is included with River Cruising – and possibly the best thing which sets it apart from Ocean Cruising – is that all tours are included. These are fully escorted guided tours by the River Cruise Lines who organise all the arrangements with local tour guides to show you the best of each port. Plus with the added benefit of being able to moor right in the heart of each destination you visit, most of the time, you will be able to begin your tour as soon as you get off the ship – rather than having to sit on a coach for an hours to reach the your destination. This also means you don’t need to clock watch the whole time you are in port. To run alongside the excursions or ports you visit the Cruise Lines also offer exciting onboard lecture and activity programmes, which often include local people coming onboard to demonstrate traditional like wine-making, traditional music and dancing and local cuisine workshops. As well as visiting some of the world’s most fascinating UNESCO World Heritage Sites and when available you can participate in fully guided tours of these spectacular places.
