I’m proud to be a crew member!

As I tell most of my clients I used to work on Celebrity cruises for 2 years sailing Itineraries from South America to Alaska.

The training on board, crew members go through is very stringent.  We are taught about dealing with medical emergencies, terrorist attacks and how to deal with ‘man over board’ if this does happen.

This was well executed on P&O’s Ventura only a few days ago.  A man fell overboard whilst the ship was sailing from Madeira on its way to the Caribbean.  The crew launched 3 lifeboats to rescue the man.  The ship had to turn around so the crew could launch the life boats to locate the passenger.

The man is in a stable condition on the ship however no details on how hell fell overboard have been released.

Congratulations to the crew on Ventura for dealing with this situation.  This can be very scary as the passenger could have been sucked under the ship in its wake.

Crew members do moan a little about all the training they go through but in this case it was well worth it!!!
