Has the Volcano given up??

There is renewed hope for an end to the travel disruption caused by volcanic ash today, as U.K. airspace has reopened and flight schedules are slowly returning to normal. British Airways, Dutch airline KLM and FlyBe, all of which operate regional services from Scotland, are fully operational again today.

The ash cloud has, however, moved over Germany, and Hamburg and Bremen airports were closed earlier today. They have since reopened, but Berlin’s Tegel airport is now affected.

The reality is that the changeable wind and the unpredictability of the volcano itself mean nobody really knows what to expect.

This firms up my previous blog about booking flights with the cruise line.  If the cruise line cannot get you to the ship then you have more chance in claiming back any monies lost from your travel insyurance company.
 
The Ash cloud is expected to come back around tomorrow but be clear for the bank holiday weekend which is a godsend as people go off for the bank holiday break.
 
Disrupted flights included EasyJet trips between Gatwick and Hamburg and Liverpool and Berlin.

Ryanair services into and out of the German cities of Bremen, Lubeck and Magdeburg were also affected.

Six flights at Edinburgh airport were cancelled because planes were out of position, and there were some delays at Glasgow airport.

Lets hope the god’s are on our side and the volcano blows itself out!!!  Remember there is still availability on  the Crown Princess on 3rd June which visits Akureyri and Reykjavic if you really want to get up close and personal!!
