What is a Getaway Fare ?
P&O and Cunard offer the Getaway fares. They are very popular because of their massive reduction in prices and In most cases I have seen prices literally half the brochure fare which is just absolutely brilliant. One thing I have found lately is so many passengers are asking me “what is a Getaway Fare” so I thought I would help and explain. The Getaway fares are excellent offers but they do come with a lot of restrictions.
1* Full payment is required at the time of booking.
2* They are non-transferable and if you need to cancel you are subject to a 100% cancellation fee.
3* Cabins are on a guarantee basis with no choice of cabin numbers, P&O or Cunard will allocate your cabin number and grade any time up to departure, once allocated cannot be changed.
4* Port shuttle bus charges may apply.
5* No additional benefits such as on board credit, Free Parking nor Transfers.
6* Dining will be automatically assigned.
7* All pre-cruise documentation is only available online.
8* No requests can be made.
One thing I will say is if you’re after a brilliant deal and don’t mind where you are on board well the getaway prices are the way forward. If you are also looking for a disabled cabin P&O and Cunard will allow you to book a getaway fare and guarantee you a disabled cabin.
