Well Done P&O Cruises…..

Awww, I just had to share this review with you all from one of my clients, who has just come back off a 7 nights Fjords cruise with P&Oon the Oriana. It was her first ever cruise and she didn’t think she would enjoy her voyage, but after me speaking to her today, she said it was the best experience she has ever had. As a single passenger she had a lot of apprehension towards travelling on her own, but as you can see from her review of her voyage, she thoroughly enjoyed it and she has had the best experience of her life. For all future clients that  have never travelled on a cruise this would be an excellent opportunity for you all to read this, and take note on what she has said.

I was on the above holiday – travelling on my first cruise.

Had one of the best weeks of my life!

Made some super new friends.
I’d been concerned about sea-sickness but worries completely unfounded. The ship was very stable and the waters were calm.

Had an inside cabin on B deck which was very nice. My steward kept it immaculately for me and was most helpful at all times. A credit to P&O.

Ate often in The Conservatory – no probs, just made sure I avoided the rush session. Al Fresco was super for late at night. Very chilled out and pleasant staff.

I thought drinks were very reasonable. Only used Peninsular once so can’t really comment on that.
Entertainment was great all round. Loved the jazz sessions with The Next Ten in the Crow’s Nest. Serendipity were great too.

I ate one evening in the Marco Pierre White Ocean Grill. Five stars from me (10 if I could – top class!) Haven’t had a meal as good as that in six years and I have been to some very nice places in the world and eat in quality restaurants. The very thought of the rack of lamb is making my mouth water! The Popping Candy Black Forest Mille Feuille was amazing. Cannot fault the whole experience.

I didn’t find any of the ports overly-expensive but then I didn’t drink alcohol ashore – you just need to suss out cafes slightly away from the quaysides. I had fab coffees and traditional cakes/waffles etc at each port of call for no more than £5.
I enjoyed all the ports. Alesund was the quietest but the walk up the hill to the viewpoint was well worth the effort. I also did a walk around the hill through the forests which was very peaceful and took about an hour. I didn’t see another person en route – no bears either! The artists quarter was charming – check out the crazy antiques emporium and have a great coffee and Lefska for a fiver. There is a nice glassblowing studio in the area which was fun to watch.
Stavanger Old Village was an absolute delight. Fabulous sunshine, dreamy place.
Bergen was super – the Funicular is great. Fish Market very atmospheric, also the Artists Quarter and the Old Wooden Town was wonderful.

The absolute highlight was Gerainger Fjord – it has to be one of the most stunningly beautiful places on earth. I found a cycle company that took you by car 17kms up to over 1,000 metres above the cloud level and into the gorgeous snow-covered mountain/frozen lake landscape. They then kit you out with bike and safety gear where you are free to explore on the ride down. I’m pretty active and love biking so this was a more than perfect experience for me. The ride down was exhilarating. I went very fast (with regular stops for sensational pictures) but you can take as much time as you want – definitely one of the best things I have done in my life. I believe Lonely Planet recommend the trip as one of the top things to do in Norway.
This cruise represents excellent value for money with accommodation, travel, food, facilities, entertainment, etc, etc. all included.
Thank you Oriana for a wonderful holiday!
As an agent this is what we like to hear, and it’s good to read reviews like this from clients who have never travelled on a cruise before and it’s been an experience she will never forget.
What else can I say, my client says it’s all !!!!!!!!! Yet another satisfied client for Cruise.co.uk….
