Tragic !!!!!!!

Today I want to dedicate my blog to the terrible tragedy of two police officers that were killed after they were called to investigate what appeared to be a “routine burglary report”.

Unarmed WPCs Fiona Bone, 32, and Nicola Hughes, 23, were brutally shot dead at point-blank range in a hail of 13 bullets  followed by a grenade explosion, after attending a “routine incident” in Manchester yesterday morning.

Two very young woman who had their full lives ahead of them.
Nicola was only 23 years old – “she always wanted to make a difference and, in doing so, she made such a big difference to everyone she knew. She cared about everyone and especially her colleagues”.
Sir Peter yesterday paid tribute to PC Hughes, describing her as a “chatterbox” and a “great bobby” who was “always smiling”. He said PC Bone was a “calm, gentle woman” and an “excellent bobby”.

PC Bone had been in the middle of planning a civil ceremony with her partner.

More than 2,500 messages have been left on Greater Manchester Police’s online book of condolence.

I was so shocked when I heard this tragic news yesterday morning; living in Manchester myself and having things like this happen on your door step is very frightening.  Police officers do an amazing job but I do think they should be armed and maybe tragedies like this wouldn’t continue to happen.
My heart and thoughts are with all their families.

What are your thoughts on Police Officers being armed ???
