Sir David Frost, 7th April 1939 – 31st August 2013.

What awful and sad news, Sir David Frost has passed away at the age of 74. He was giving a speech whilst on board the Queen Elizabeth on Saturday night, where it was reported that he had suffered a heart attack.

Earlier today, Cunard’s Peter Shanks has paid tribute to legendary broadcaster Sir David Frost.
Mr Peter Shanks, the line’s president and managing director, said: “Sir David was a remarkable journalist and broadcaster.”
“Cunard had a proud association with him over many years. On behalf of us all at Cunard Line I would like to extend our deepest sympathy to his wife, family and friends.”
Sir David’s career spanned journalism, comedy writing and daytime television presenting, including “The Frost Report”. Internationally, he will be remembered for his revealing interviews with former US President Richard Nixon and also for his famous catchphrase “hello, good evening and welcome.”
My heart and thoughts are with his family and friends at this very sad time.
